Literal and figurative traverses of basin and range

SS @ TMP, then PBR w/PWEI, 242, etc.

I learned yesterday that today would be about 15° cooler than it's been lately, so BeanSS and I hit the G5 Trailhead at Tucson Mountain Park and did a short loop on the Ironwood Trail. I've been commuting on a geared road bike for weeks, so I took my singlespeed out to mix things up. My legs were killing me, but I was somehow able to stay on top of my gear and have a good ride. We came back and started in on the coffee we'd denied ourselves before the ride.

The cups of coffee eventually turned to cans of beer. I like music with my beer, so I spun a few Pop Will Eat Itself CDs and now, Front 242 is in the changer. I'll have to quit playing DJ pretty soon because I'm going to try and throw in a workout.

Of course, it'll be the very same 15° cooler tonight, so I'll have to think back a month or so to know what to wear for tomorrow morning's bike commute. It's too bad, because I was getting used to the idea of abandoning my wind vest and full-fingered gloves and being able to wear the same kit on both the morning and afternoon rides. But don't think I'm complaining, because summer is just around the corner.

My weekend activities also included reassembling my old hardtail into what will be its third configuration. More on that another day.
